We were fortunate to meet with the producer at one of the many wine tasting trade events and he explained how he wanted to make an accessible fruitier wine from the Barbera grape by using the appassimento method (where they dry the grapes like raisins and condense the sugars) and we think the result is quite simply amazing. It’s a stunning red that is fruity yet full bodied with just a hint of sweetness on the finish. A lovely alternative to a Primitivo.
